Organic Gin – A Subset of the Gin Market

Categories:

Organic Gin is a subset of the general gin market and offers some unique products that use both organic grain and botanicals. These gins are typically distilled in small batches by producers that make an effort to source ingredients from local and sustainable farms. Organic gin can also offer consumers a more authentic taste as the flavour profiles are not impacted by additives.

Dada Chapel Organic Dry Gin from Flanders, Belgium, is a London Dry style gin that features a blend of organic botanicals reflecting the rich, fertile soil of the region. Sea buckthorn, an emerging superfood, is mellowed with perry pear and balanced by lemon and orange peel, rosemary and elderflower. A touch of licorice reins in the citrus to create a herbaceous and floral profile.

Hilbing Gin from Mendoza, Argentina, is crafted in the London Dry style but includes malbec grapes which gives it a distinctive Argentine character. The gin is made with a mix of organic botanicals and pure Andean mountain water. The resulting cocktail is fresh and fruity with classic juniper, but hints of acai and other tropical fruits make this a unique take on the London Dry style.

Engine Organic Gin from Liverpool, England, uses an organic base spirit and organic botanicals. The gin’s slogan ‘Fuel the Dream’ is an allusion to the shape of the bottle, which was inspired by an oil can. The company also marketed the product through a website that was designed to look like a petrol station and included an engine symbol as well as other elements that were typical of automotive advertising.
